I have just picked up a cheap Kindle Fire HD 7 (4th Generation), hoping that I can use this with Calibre to remove DRM/convert Kindle books for use on an Android tablet.

However, when I connect to Calibre it gives following errors.....

ERROR: Error: Error communicating with device

C:\r\src\src\calibre\devices\mtp\windows\content_e numeration.cpp:690:Failed to create stream interface to write to object:[hr=0x802a0002 wCode=0] Shutdown was already called on this object or the object that owns it.

Is what I am trying to do possible or am I wasting my time with this device?

If the latter then are there any models of Kindle that will do what I want?
