Do you have ADB working?
Can you check a few things?
Code:
C:\>adb shell
$ cat /proc/cpuinfo
You don't have to quote it all, just the name at the end and if there are 8 cpus.
Code:
$ ls -l /dev/block/by-name
Is it all sda1, sde7, etc or mmcblk0p23, etc?

I'd really like to see you try with EDL.
I can help you find a Firehose loader.
If you have that all working you can make a complete raw backup of your device that will allow you to return to this time point no matter what updates or screwups occur.

You can use my Windows EDL client or the bkerler Python one.
Either of those work with the Zadig WinUsb driver (not the Qualcomm one).
See the instructions on my website.
Code:
C:\>adb reboot edl
C:\>edl /l
Then without a Firehose loader you need to press the power button for 10 seconds to reboot.
