I tried KoReader on my PocketBook. For my purposes it seemed overly complicated. I uninstalled it, mostly because it didn't support Adobe page numbers (it numbered the screens instead).

PocketBooks actually come with two built-in readers. One for ePub 2 and one for ePub 3. I think it defaults to the ePub 3 one, but you can change this by long-pressing the book and then pressing "Open with." I honestly don't know the difference, I just use the default.

I get around not being able to "bolden" the font by installing the Constantia font. Works well for me.

One thing I did like about the KoReader app was the ability to change the contrast (which I think is a better solution than changing the boldness of the fonts).
