But first we need to finish up with the "big" things in the house. Right now the solar panels are being installed. On Friday the new sofa will be delivered and next Friday the crawlspace will be insulated. Some smaller things will need to be done, but I'm glad when all the big fuss is over.

Well, happily for you two and unhappily for the kitty population (and puppy population, etc.), we all know that there are millions, literally, of cats who can all use homes. Of all ages. Kittens have much easier times finding homes so, when one can, adopting a cat (or dog, etc.) that's older, matore or even aged and ill can do the world a lot of good. Our scenario, had it occurred differently, would have seen much older cats come to live with us, but...well, I shan't bore you all with the story, but they are younger than I should have adopted, if things had gone differently--just for that reason (helping older puddies).
Sorry to lecture here, but I
swear, the irresponsibility of people around breeding mixed-breed, unwanted animals,
especially to each other (the dogs/cats, I mean, especially dogs!!!) and then...nm.
I can't. The only reason I wish I were a billionaire would be to establish animal rescue operations that would focus primarily on not only homing and re-homing, but spay and neuter and some
small attempt (small only because People Iz Stoopid) at human education about the topic. Sigh. (Yeah yeah, I know, this isn't the V&R thread, I'll shaddup now.)
