You could try the REI Co-op Rainier Rain Jacket. See REI Mens Rain Jackets. I picked up one on sale at their store in Bellingham on a trip to the USA. Another choice might be the Arc'teryx Beta which my daughter-in-law purchased for my son as a present last Christmas. It replaced his Helly Hanson rain jacket as a lighter and easier to move in jacket. OTOH, he loves it for the Grouse Grind.

The rant part comes when you start looking at what some people call rain jackets. One my DIL looked at was basically a garbage bag with arm and neck holes. Kinda like the emergency ponchos I ended up wearing at some music festivals.
