I usually run with the (floating) Preview window on an old 768x1024 monitor (portrait).
It died after 21 years

I can't figure how to get that to move back to a working screen since I can't give it focus to use alt+space-m.

Ver 7.17.101
Where is the position stored? or is there a keystroke to shift focus so the normal move a window works.
