Last night I didn't hear anything. Until some time during the night. When it was raining fairly hard. Someone set off fireworks outside. I didn't get up to look, so I'm not 100% sure it's the son, but I think it's there's a fairly high chance it was him and his friends. Luckily it didn't last long and I went back to sleep quickly.
For reference, in the Netherlands you're only allowed to set off fireworks From 6pm on December 31 until 2am on January 1. And consumer fireworks is only allowed to be sold on 28, 29 and 30 December.

How strange. We have the same rules about fireworks here, and last night someone set them off outside our house too. No public holiday here, just an ordinary weekend. That's one hell of a coincidence.
