Pa @jhowell Unless something changed in last ~6 months your statement about KFX renderer on Kindle devices not supporting soft hyphens is 100% incorrect. Sometimes after Amazon started using KFx format for PDOCs send via Send to Kindle web app I've tested the idea of sending soft hyphenated epub book in serbian language and the end result was a KFX file that had hyphens in the correct places.
If I would send the same book but without added soft hyphens the delivered KFX wouldn't have hyphens.
It's also curios how unlike Kindle Previewer that refuses to convert to KFX books in serbian (since it is not officially supported language) "cloud" conversation pipeline doesn't care about the language and creates a KFX file (normally without hyphenation since the firmware doesn't? include hyphenation dictionary for serbian language).

So, in conclusion: the same approach that worked in the past for getting hyphenated azw3 file via Send to Kindle also worked for KFX... at least the last time I've tested it in both Kindle for Android and Kindle PW5.
