Edit Metadata Data Files Indicator

I hope someone can help me with this as it seems my search abilities are not working very well right now.

I am in the middle of updating/correcting metadata for my considerably large library. I am spending a tremendous amount of time in the edit metadata screen fixing were I have to and consolidating data where I have to as well. I'm accessing the data files folder more and more (thank you for that function), but I find I am continually clicking on the "Data files" to see if I have anything in the data files folder, wasting time. Is there an indicator somewhere that I'm missing on the Edit Metadata screen to indicate that there are files there like on the book details Folder field where you have links to the paths? If there isn't, could the button be changed to a different colour when there are files present? Regular grey when nothing & say green when something is present?

Thanks for the help.
