Thanks, I've installed the firmware from the link just in case, but it is the same one as I had before. Still, it's good that I have a copy of it saved so I can go back to it.
I'll keep looking around and try to get the order number from when my friend bought the tablet originally, so maybe Boox support can dig up the updated firmware from wherever they put it. The Feedback function on the device itself fails to send.
