It's happening because you created a custom composite column containing the author note. This makes the note part of the book metadata. Calibre doesn't know what the data is or where the data comes from. It will always be included in the opf.
If it bothers you sufficiently you can remove the composite column and use the author link icon in book details to view the notes.
