The frontlight on my Sage is always at 9 (I use my Sage at night in a dimly lit room), so no need to adjust it. On my Libra (which I use in daylight) I adjust it constantly and have no preferred value - it can go from 15 to 90, depending on the ambient light level. And I always have the frontlight on on both of them, I never turn it completely off. So I'd have no use for NickelMenu in this regard.
As to unplugging/replugging, I don't do this very often (I like to have a decent amount of new books before loading them on my Kobos), so I can live with things as they are.
I find screenshots easier and faster to take with my phone - I can upload them immediately to Dropbox and from there to my computer. While I'd have to connect my Kobo via USB to get the photos off it.
