I use my own system for that - with the help of the Page Count plugin in Calibre. The overall number of pages gets sent to my Kobos and is visible in Subtitle and in Book Details.
I don't like the Adobe numbers because their page count is similar to hardcover editions - which I never read. I want my page count to reflect mass market editions and have customized the plugin accordingly.
Besides, I like to use kepubs on my Sage and so there would not be Adobe numbers there anyway.
