Backlit screen would kill it as a reader for me. I'm at a computer hours every day working, surfing the net etc. so my eyes are pretty fatigued by the time I stop and want to read.
But as a multi function tablet it could be a great device. But I don't personally have much use for a tablet device since I'm pretty much always near a pc or laptop.
