Perhaps one test would be to have a look at the value of the checkbox in the menu at Gear -> Screen -> Rotation -> Ignore accelerometer rotation events when the auto rotation stops working. If it’s checked, then something must trigger it somehow. If not, then the issue has to be something else.

Hello BionicGecko and thanks for the advice.
Turns out, the issue is with the ‘keep rotation device locked across screens’ (or something similar) option - when it is checked, after a while, the problem occurs (the screen stops rotating according to the gyroscope). When I unchecked it, the device rotates freely, forever.
While I do like having it checked and working, the drawback of rotation stopping working after awhile is a big deal for me. So I just leave it unchecked and enjoy my rotations hehe. And get annoyed that every time I go to the Home Screen, the device flips back to its default portrait mode… #firstworldproblems!
Also - nothing fixes the issue but a hard reset - I’ve pushed every button!
Thanks again.
