Might be worth uninstalling the Kindle app and reinstalling the latest from Amazon's website (even if the versions look the same).

I got a similar error recently after an automatic update.

I then uninstalled the Kindle App and reinstalled an older version and deleted the book and it imported correctly.

Then just to be sure it wasn't a glitch, I uninstalled the old version and installed the latest version (KindleForPC-installer-2.4.70904.exe) and to my surprise it worked.

It could have been a glitch, or it could be something went wrong with the automatic update and uninstalling and re-installing fixed it.
