For the reset, power 30s, release and then page turn hold and then power up to 30s.
A couple of the Kobos I've tried to do a factory reset on using the page turn/power turned out to need the power button held to force a power off. The screen is useless there since it just displayed the last image and the owners did not realize that the power was on and the CPU was hung.
