It's not true 300 ppi in black as the coloured dots are always there.
This has been explained in great detail before.
It's an inferior to anything else colour 150 ppi. If mono is done at 300 ppi it's inherently poorer quality than a mono screen at 300 ppi and can have coloured artefacts.
It has no advantage and is inferior for almost all novels.
