Thank you for the suggestion, but this didn't work.
I modified the file to exclude unwanted file formats and rearranged the format order, but it holds only for the current wireless connection instance. Once the device disconnect and then reconnects, the full list of file formats shows, so either calibre or the plugin reconstructs
device_drivers_SMART_DEVICE_APP.py.json each time the device connects.
Yes, there is a right click Configure this device option, but it doesn't permit the deselection of unwanted file formats in the manner of the configure options for other connected devices.
I consider the issue fixed though: I don't especially need the other unused formats not to show: I just wanted EPUB to be top of the list, and now it is.
