My A6X2 is reporting its vendor ID as 18D1 which is the one from google if I am not mistaken.
The device id changes depending on the mode I have it:
If I have it in enable sideloading it reports 0017 in file transfer mode and 0018 in ptp mode.
If I put it in normal mode it reports 0007 in file transfer mode and 0008 in ptp mode.
But never reports the correct vendor id so the vendor detection checks in Calibre are bypassed, is this a new thing or is there a setting I am missing ?

I decided to use the old thread to keep the information all together please correct me if I should have opened a new one anyway.
