That thread in the News Forum is an announcement. Deals should be discussed in the Deals and Resources Forum.
I stopped doing a Prime Day thread after I dropped Prime last November. Instead I went with a Black Friday in July thread this year (which includes Prime Day). Given the nature of these stores starting their BFiJ sales many weeks early (just like Black Friday), the savings haven't been all that great. BFiJ looks to be no better than any of their other major sales.
I seriously doubt I'll even do this thread next year given the low turnout. Time will tell.
