Did you get it working with Kanji Study? I spoke with the developer several years ago about onyx devices and support for eink but he wasn't interested at the time. Glad to see you got it working by editing the config.
I haven't tried it but I definitely will when I get home from traveling. I made my own note app years back and had my own custom import/export process. I originally did it to have layer support. Once they added that update I stopped using mine. If I remember, there was another person who did something similar with the onenote app before that got official support as well.
