The folders have GUID strings that are associated with your amazon account and so if your Kindle is not registered, it cannot generate such a GUID. And it will ignore GUIDs that are not associated with your account so you cannot side load them to a non-registered Scribe.

If both Scribes are registered (even to different accounts) you can copy nbk file from one into any GUID folder on the other and it will replace the associated notebook (I think).

Instead, you can side load blank (or formatted with some template pages) print replica documents and they will have pretty much same functionality as a notebook, plus these can be in landscape or portrait, and you can zoom.

KFX Input CLI can generate ePub from the folder containing the nbk (handwritten notes) associated with this side loaded print replica document.

Notebook and print replica nbk's are not interchangeable, or at least nobody has figured out how to convert them from one to the other. I think it's feasible, but have not had more than curiosity to motivate further investigation so far.

This would allow you to export print replica writing to a notebook, so you could for example use convert to text. And going the other way would let you gather 'notebooks' with books and personal documents in collections.
