Since you mention dd, are you using a Linux system? Though your mention of Aomei Assistant suggests a Windows system. If you are using Windows, did you use the tools recommended in the Memory Upgrade Mod thread? So far using VConsole's USB Duplicator Image Creator and USB Duplicator Image Writer together with the Minitool Partition Wizard Free, I haven't run into any issues with creating, writing and resizing the FAT32 partition on a cloned µSD card. |
It turns out that there was debris from the glue on the around the contacts inside the SD slot. I didn't know why the original SD card worked when I reinserted it back to kobo. I applied a couple of drops of gasoline and cleaned the glue. All the SD cards I created using the aforementioned tools worked. I highly recommend AOMEI Assistant or USB Image Tool as they are much faster than dd commands. AOMEI is even better because you can do the expansion with the clone.
