This is the second time that Weltbild had to file for insolvency.

The last time was in 2014. (If you scroll down you will actually find a couple of threads about this from 10 years ago under "similar threads".)

They released a statement on their website (in german) that says the company is being restructured and that things will continue to operate as usual.

Google translation:

Quote:
Weltbild is restructuring itself as part of insolvency proceedings - business operations continue as normal

Weltbild has filed for insolvency proceedings in order to restructure itself. A provisional insolvency administrator has been appointed. The proceedings have no impact on you. All ordering and purchasing processes continue as usual, goods are delivered as usual.

We thank you for your loyalty and look forward to being able to offer you inspiring shopping experiences and a great selection in the future.

Your Weltbild team

Also Weltbild is NOT Tolino...
They are only one of multiple partners in the Tolino Alliance. Even if Weltbild were to go belly up, it would most likely have no significant impact on Tolino e-readers.
