I currently use Calibre Companion, and have since it came out. I have a large Library and on the newest kindle Fire it can take 45+ minutes to sync with my library which is annoying!.

Does anyone have a estimate sync time for a normal sync process? Say 40000 items especially initial setup time to get the books on/into the sync database?
The first sync for so many books takes ages. Each subsequent sync then takes a few minutes, depending on the number of new added books.

From reading the FAQs it seems that the app will allow me to sync reading date and status (yes/no/unknown) just like CC does - will my existing columns work for this?
Yes, you can specify the columns for read status and read date.

Also I wanted to check if it uses the Calibre Template for naming download books I couldn't tell from the FAQS.
No, it‘s „calibre file name - uid” for library format v2.
