Cloning an unresponsive K3 ?

Given
- A K3 that is completely unresponsive, but connects by USB to my Linux box.
- Said Linux box not running Kubrick, prog freezes at the first "Enter".
- I have another, in fact several other, k3 that work properly.

Would it be possible to connect both to the Linux box, and simply run as root something like:
Code:
dd if=/dev/goodkindle of=/dev/badkindle bs=4M status=progress
Of course I would make sure they are both of the same model(B008, B006...).
