New Calibre Sync user here (switching after years and years of Calibre Companion).
For my use case (just have a copy of my single Calibre library on my Android devices so I can read in situations with poor connectivity) all the different ways to sync confused the hell out of me - until I found this thread.
Turns out all I needed to do was to copy the entire calibre library to a folder on a SD card mounted in a device and point Calibre Sync at that folder (local / SD / [folder name]. I have a bit more than 10K books, and it took about 20 minutes to do that (Samsung Tab S7+). Could someone please, *please* stick that into the app FAQ? Please? I spent about four days of trying to sync via Calibre's 'Content server' - nearly as painful as connecting CC as a wireless device and pushing books over from the PC interface and waiting...
I've a number of questions, but the first one is... With library format 2, and Moon Reader, what book title does the reader see? As a test, I opened a book I was reading on another Android device, also using Moon Reader but CC as a library manager. I use MR's 'sync reading positions' - and it failed to recognize that I was in the middle of that book. So...I'm *guessing* the issue is the V2 library format (making each book unique if I'm downloading from multiple sources - which I am not). Can the library be downgraded - or is there a way for me to specify format V1 when opening a library to sync? I see the setting 'multiple library formats' - and have that 'on'.
Thanks!
