Are you using calibre to send the series information?

If so, you need to do one connection to send the book, safely eject, your Kobo will then import the book, reconnect to calibre and the metadata will be set in the database.

If you are not using calibre, you will need to look at NickelSeries (see the first message in this thread for the link to download and install it). NickelSeries and NickelMenu are separate programs.
