Interesting. I did not read the discussion that way. What I seem to remember was stating that I did not care what gender choices are made by other MobileRead members. I seem to remember writing the following:

Personally, I do not know nor do I really care about the gender choices made by other MobileRead members. My interaction is with their messages here. One of the great things about the internet is that you don't get to judge people based on any criteria other than their ability to write.

My other post in that thread that ended up in moderation was when I asked another poster whether the OP in that thread wanted sexual orientation as part of gender when they posted "Some people are nonbinary, transgender, and other genders as well." And yes, I did get slapped down for re-posting the message when it did not appear.
Personally, my vote then and now was to simply leave the item blank. Given the age of MobileRead's software, not much else can be done.
