so it seems the furthest you got in those threads was discovering there are some database entries that are being written to allow the manual copying of files to work, we need to try to work out what those database changes are, perhaps with some datetime checking before and after to see whats been added/modified.
Additionally to this, Ive contacted KOBO direct and they have said they've escalated this issue to see if the technical team can provide some assistance on doing this manually via files and USB, I will wait there response via email and post back.
