Another rant about the delivery of something I ordered.
Last weekend I ordered a new mattress, I had planned on ordering it later but it was on sale.
That company usually ships it with a day, since Monday was a bank holiday they shipped it on Tuesday. Normally the shipping company delivers it within 1 or 2 days. So I didn't plan anything. The shipping company didn't register the package (it's rolled up in a box) until Thursday night. First they were to deliver it yesterday morning. So I was up in time and was almost ready to leave for our new house when I got a message that the delivery was delayed and it would be delivered this morning.
Just now I get another email telling me that the delivery is now delayed until Monday morning. Luckily I was already going to the house on Monday to meet with the painter and the flooring people. Now I'll just have to stay longer and wait for my package. If it's going to be delivered.
I suspect the delay is because it's a big, heavy package. I deliberately picked this delivery company, because the other option was DHL and they are notorious for setting the delivery window between 8am and 8pm and then not showing up because "no one was home".
I'll give them one more chance before contacting the manufacturer I ordered from to see if they can move things along.
