Hypothetically on jailbreak-ed Kindle it should be possible to directly manipulate cc.db SQLite database to create series entries and add books to a particular series.
It is just that nobody bothered to create a Calibre plugin or KUAL extension or Python script or whatever.

And given that in last couple of years new firmware was already prone to bootlooping and bricking itself afted just adding books Kindle "doesn't like" for whatever reason... It's not that surprising nobody tried "sideloading series metadata" and risk clashing with "Cloud Collections" sync.
