Today's the start of the end of a year of packing, moving and unpacking.

In a little while my sister is going to do a final walk through of our new house and the get everything signed.

We're straight into DIY mode; on Thursday the plasterer/painter is coming so we have to have at least some room free of wallpaper. We're hoping it's as easy as on the YouTube films, but if not we're prepared with extra tools. The plasterer said it isn't that much work to remove the wallpaper of two floors "you could easily do that in a day". I doubt it.

Today my sister wants to remove a couple of radiators and remove the plates of the wall switches and sockets and maybe do a test of removing some wallpaper. Again, a bit optimistic IMHO, but we'll see. I want to take some measurements so I can see if the layout I have in my head will work.

Next month on the 13th and 14th the movers are coming to pack up and move everything.

I'm excited and looking forward to when we have moved in. But I'm not looking forward to the next chaotic month.
