If you insist on the form factor "phonelike" then I'd recommend the TCL 40Nxtpaper, which isn't an e-reader but a matte LCD.

The arguments for this device are the price, the features (it's a full functional phone), no ghosting (I really hate the ghosting and the refreshes on my e-readers after some minutes), colours look like they are supposed to look, android (you can install your favourite reading app). Cons are Android 13 (not the newest version, nevertheless there are few e-readers with Android 13 right now) and the update policy of TCL isn't the best, the lowest brightness is actually too bright for me at night, although apps like Librera can dim the brightness even further, KoReader can't this, though), the battery life isn't comparable to a classic e-reader, although one can disable many system apps and get a decent time without the need for recharging when using the phone just for reading.

I have no problems with LCD screens so it really doesn't matter for me which screen I use. I really like the matte Nxtpaper screens since they have no reflections, even my Meebook and Boox TUC reflect light more than the matte TCl display. Unfortunately the Nxtpaper isn't really usable when bright sunlight shines directly on it. But then my e-readers aren't really usable either with direct sunlight on the screen.
