Excluding means words in those files are no longer checked, therefore they arent misspelled. Hiding words doesnt change the fact that the spell checker thinks they are misspelled, it just allows you to focus on words you believe are more likely to be actually misspelled.
What I will do is have it also show the count of currently displayed words.
