On Kindle and Kobo KOReader will power off the device automatically after a while, 3 days by default otoh. But at a glance that doesn't seem to be implemented on Cervantes.

grep for WakeupMgr and wakeup_mgr in the source. There's some chance it'll pretty much just work as is, unless those devices don't support the required functionality at all.

Edit: but in short, if you know you're not going to be using it for a week it might be better to power it off immediately if you don't want the battery to drain a little bit.
