No, seriously, you can do it too. It's just a matter of having fun and forgetting that it's supposed to be hard. They never tell you that on writing courses, it's all about plot and knowing what your character ate for breakfast when they were fifteen. Too much of writing is spent without joy, without having fun, I should know, I spent ten years not having that much fun writing. Couple of things that I heard that stuck with me, and I try to live my writing life by them:
If you're not excited by the story, then why bother. Throw it away.
Character is action, everything else is just window dressing.
You don't write what you know, you write to find out what you know.
and, my favourite of all.....
Plot is just footsteps left in the snow after your character has passed by
