BTW, the comment on 600ml of nitroglycerin was due to one member of the 6 person Chemistry club in high school. One afternoon we for unknown reasons decided to try synthesizing various explosives. All but one of us used tapered micro-testubes to manufacture a couple of mls. The remaining person went for making around ~600ml of nitroglycerin. While not at the level of nitrogen triiodide for sensitivity, there is a reason that Alfred Nobel made a fortune from stabilizing nitroglycerin with sorbents.
