Dealing with complaints about the error checking/correction routine I rewrote. Any input that does not match the expected input template is now required to be corrected before moving to the next field. Evidently some people are having trouble with this. The same idiots who caused the error checking routine to need rewriting since the bad entries caused issues during later processing.

Yes, the postal code must be in the A1A 1A1 format though it will autocorrect to that if you enter A1A1A1 or use lower case, any other input will not be accepted. You can click on the address field and do an online lookup though it takes 5-15 seconds.

Yes, you need a first name and last name, no, you can't put both in one field and no this is not autocorrectable. Have you looked at some of the names in the district?

Multiple other complaints that they can no longer treat most of the fields as free form to be fixed later. Guess what folks, they never got fixed later. If you don't have time to do it right the first time, when are you going to find the time to fix your mistakes?

Yes, job titles are a 3 character acronym. You will see a list of the current acronyms search displayed as you type and can click on the correct one. No, you can't use 0-2 or 4+ characters nor can you leave the field blank.

Yes, sites are using the same 3 character abbreviations that have been standard in the district for decades. When you type the first character in the field, you will see a list of sites starting with that character.

No, you can't use a numeral to start a name. 0'Bannion is not a valid name.

It makes me feel happy that I am retired and got well paid for rewriting the input routines but do not have to have people griping about it in person.
