So why on earth make a pointless query as to what 8K or 16k means in the context of display panels? The only other meaning is ancient, such as bit or bytes of RAM, ROM, EPROM etc, about 40 years ago.
And dpi (dots per inch), lpi (lines per inch), ppi (pixels per inch) as well as Hercules, CGA, VGA, SVGA, XGA for PCs and often 2K, 4K, 8K now for monitors, display panels and TVs.
Words do have more than one definition/meaning that's usually obvious from context.
You brought up this stupid argument before and it was resolved. A resolution for most people.
