You're right, too: A common expression is "Pot Luck." -- something like, "We're having a party Saturday. Pot luck, bring anything," for example.

The term "pot luck" is used interchangeably with "bring a dish." At least, here in the South. (I'm talking about the U.S. and not Peru.)
