That's what I've always used for charging my ereaders, since I bought it back in 2011 with my first Kindle. Because that's the only suitable charger I have.
Anyway, it works well even after a dozen years and I haven't had any egregious battery problems (by your standards, most of my ereaders have probably had an appalling battery life, but nothing out of the ordinary for me).
