Just a different point of view, another time !

I was trapped from the beginning (and as English is not my mother tongue, and as I read it in English, I think it's quite not so easy for a book to do to me...)
But I think like JSWolf that evolutions of characters had much to do with it.
To make a parallel, I didn't finish "A Game of Thrones", that I bought just after the Farseer Trilogy. Haven't been taken in... Maybe I'll try again, some day...
PS : I saw the Assassin's Apprentice first time in French, and the plot summary didn't appeal to me then. Some years later, I saw it at Amazon, in English, and I decided to give it a try (didn't remember the french version then). I was so hooked I purchased the other 2 when I was always reading it. It was my first experience with Robin Hobb's books, and not the last !
