When I tested it, it seemed to implement the Bionic Reading algorithm where the first 1-5 characters of each word are bolded. To be honest, I found it to be as useless as Bionic Reading—this implementation does not add any improvements. In my tests, for me, reading speed is actually worse and test reading comprehension pages did not show any improvements with either algorithm.
