If we didn't live in the USA equivalent of Alice Springs, BR, I'd have gone with the Aga years ago, I don't care what anyone says, "outdated tech" my narrow old butt. I adored that soapstone surround/fireplace...still the best "overnight oats" ever. (And sure, you could argue that the method of applying the heat to the oats to cook them is moot, but, whatev.)

It's just...nah, when it really is so hot here, six full months of the year, then an Aga is nuts. it's perfect for the northern European environment, it really is. It's human technology, in many ways, at its finest for the purpose. Just..wouldn't work here very well.
