Odd behavior special character highlighting

Edit book: Fix highlighting for special characters not visible when the cursor is on the line with the special character

I noticed some odd behavior about this. When removing or changing a special character the highlighting remains until you move the cursor or do some other editing.

At first I thought that some invisible special character was still present, but it seems that the screen is just not updated for this. Nothing major, but could confuse the user.
