Thanks for the responses. I'm using 4.38 and have connected my Kobo to Calibre but the books have not returned. Fortunately I keep a backup of the books I sideload so I can put them back using Dropbox. I've had several different Kobo devices over the years but have never had this happen before. I love Kobo readers but can't have this happen again.
