Only Gallery 3 (which doesn't work like mono eink with colour filter like Triton or Kaleido) is anything like proper colour (and still poor) but it would need to do a full page refresh about x10 faster to be remotely a suitable technology for an ereader. The Eink Company doesn't adequately explain how it works for me to have an opinion on if it would ever be much faster.
An eink mono panel with a coloured filter (Triton, Kaleido) is never going to be be much better due to physics and mathematics, it's impossible. Kaleido applies every known trick to improve on Triton (2 x 2 cell vs 3:1 stripes and pastel shades rather than saturated RGB to brighten it).
