This is an inadequate set of directions, thanks to a fundamental design flaw in GitHub. You must log in to GitHub
first or you won't even see the "Assets" portion of the window. GitHub's design is "we won't show you everything if you're not logged in," which is, umm, dumber than a box of rocks. If you want to require a login before actually accessing the material, that's one thing; hiding the very existence of the material that is held on a public repository, that's just dumb. (And just logging in while on the extra-releases page doesn't work, either.)
Bad GitHub. No cookie. Which is precisely why I don't stay logged in except when actually performing a function on a specific site. (It's not paranoia when they really are out to get you.)
